Research on the Responsibilities and Competencies of Research Managers by IU IPO
IU IPO will participate in a conference titled "Where is RMA Going? The Future of RMA in a Rapidly Changing World," organized by the European Association of Research Managers and Administrations (EARMA) on April 23-24, 2024 with the study aimed at defining the profile of research managers in Turkey.
Research managers/administrators are expected to adapt to new challenges in the research ecosystem. Issues such as artificial intelligence, academic freedom and integrity, open access, education and innovation, professionalization, and expansion of the profession are also transforming the profession of research management and the structure of research support offices in higher education institutions.
The conference titled "Where is RMA Going? The Future of RMA in a Rapidly Changing World," to be held in 2024, aims to initiate discussions on various topics to enable research management structures to adapt to this transformation.
IU IPO has had its paper entitled "Identifying Responsibilities, Skills, Job Satisfaction, and Success Levels of RMAs in Turkey" accepted for presentation at this conference. Based on a study conducted by our office with research managers nationwide, this study will reveal the responsibilities and competencies of research managers and examine the determinants of job satisfaction and success rates.
Furthermore, Lecturer Şaban Çaytaş, has been awarded a speaker scholarship supporting attendance at this conference.
