ACLIFS Project

The aim of the project, which is targeted to be completed in 18 months, is to determine the effects of climate change on agriculture and animal husbandry in selected regions, including their socio-economic consequences, and to evaluate adaptation options.

In the scope of the project, in three selected basins (the Küçük Menderes Basin and the Eğirdir-Karacaören and Beyşehir Lakes Basins):

•    Modeling of climate change and prediction of changes in water reservoirs,
•    Assessment of the impact of new reservoir conditions on agricultural production,
•    Modeling of crop patterns according to new conditions,
•    Conducting studies to determine the economic and social impacts of new conditions are aimed.

Within the project framework, separate crop plans will be prepared for the selected 3 basins as a result of modeling studies to be carried out consecutively, and plans will be made to increase the resilience capacity of rural areas against climate change, aiming to reduce economic and social impacts.

In this context, along with survey studies targeting stakeholders contributing to agricultural production in the region, it is planned to conduct 6 training sessions, 6 focus group meetings, and 4 regional workshops.
